12/5/23 – This is a very collectible KU luger – which gets its name from the KU on the left side of the receiver. Some of the specifics are unknown (such as the meaning of KU) but most believe these guns were put together by Krieghoff from left over Mauser parts after the Mauser factory switched from the Luger to the P.38. The original finish is about 80% and the bore is excellent; shiny and probably rates a 9 out of 10. The wood grips are fully numbered to the gun as they should be. It is dated 1939 which is a bit rare, and some of the parts are marked 42, which means they were Mauser factory replacement parts for factory or field repairs. It comes with a black widow style magazine. As with all KU marked lugers it has a combination of Mauser proofs as well as Krieghoff proofs on the barrel and the right side of the receiver.
