12/5/23 – This is a near-excellent example of a Prussian Infantry Pickelhaube from WW1. This example features nickel fixtures, domed spike base mounts, removeable top spike, vented spine, both original cockades, original leather chinstrap, and the original leather liner still intact. The exterior black lacquered shell is clean and excellent, with the front and back visors showing evidence of scuffs, small bruises and light wear. Excellent considering its age. The chin strap has some light surface wrinkling and mild cracking but is completely intact and original. The metal fixtures are all excellent and clean with light signs of age. The interior liner is clean with an aged look and some surface wear throughout. The interior shell is ink stamped with a circular maker marking that we cannot decipher, and a 1916 date. A very nice example, hard to find in this condition!
