12/1/23 – This is an excellent BYF 43 Mauser P.38 issued to the German military in 1943. Proper “Eagle 135” military acceptance proofs. Matching parts aside from the barrel, which is mismatched. It comes as a rig with an embellished 1943-dated hard shell holster (some stitching missing from the top flap), an “Eagle 135” Mauser magazine, and one jvd magazine. It also comes with an original capture document, a photocopy of a separate capture doc (both list this gun by serial number), and some information about the man who captured it, Robert Richmond. Included are photocopies of Robert’s Honorable Discharge paperwork and a signed letter from Robert’s son, detailing how this pistol was acquired. The gun itself has retained about 96-97% of its original dusty-blue finish. Just very minor wear around the muzzle and on the high edges of the slide. Fitted with excellent period-correct grips. Minty bore. De-cocker is functional.
