11/13/23 – This is an excellent example of an early Spreewerk P.38 issued to the Nazi military in November of 1942. It has no letter suffix. It is all matching and has the proper “Eagle 88” military proofs. There is an asterisk marking on the barrel, indicating it failed initial inspection and was repaired at the factory – a desirable trait for collectors. It has retained about 96% of its original finish. There is minor thinning on the front strap and wear around the muzzle and on the high edges of the slide. Fitted with blackish-brown bakelite grips. Comes with an early “Eagle 88” marked Spreewerk magazine. Mint bore. De-cocker is functional. The hold-open does not work properly with this magazine.
