11/6/23 – Here we have a limited produced of the M1 Garand rifle as done by Springfield Armory to commemorate D-day. The rifle itself is in mint condition externally and is marked as number 408 of 1944 produced, which is obviously a tribute to the year of the Normandy invasion. The op rod is marked ‘D-Day Normandy, June 6, 1944’. The right side of the buttstock has been laser etched with the Normandy beach scene, and the left side features a quote from General Eisenhower’s speech to the Armed Forces. The assembly is complete with a military style wood crate, a cleaning kit and a rifle carrying case. Bore is excellent, and muzzle and throat readings are both less than one.
