10/6/23 – This is a very nice example of a very early Springfield Model 1903. The serial number on the receiver dates it to 1904. The barrel is Springfield marked and dated June of 1907. “ELH” inspection stamp on the left side of the stock. The gun has all of the proper early characteristics. The bluing rates roughly 85%. There is wear around the muzzle, general high edge wear, and areas of thinning and light brown patina on the rear barrel band and floor plate/trigger assembly. Very nice wood furniture. Comes with a 1908-dated RIA leather sling. The bore has pretty nice rifling, but there is spotty surface oxidation throughout.
