10/5/23 – This is an original M1917 SBR gas mask issued to American troops in WW1. This example shows some deterioration inside the mask, with the glass eyepieces intact and no cracks. The tube to the canister has hardened and is no longer malleable. The canister has about 60% of the yellow paint left, with a minor surface patina on the exposed metal. Original instruction pamphlet is included and is dated 1918. Overall great condition.
