9/25/23 – This is a very nice example of an early Colt Government Model 1911 sold in the commercial market in 1918. It is all correct and has retained roughly 85% of its original high polish finish. The majority of the finish loss is on the back strap, but there is also muzzle wear, and spotty wear along both sides of the slide, concentrated mostly around the high edges. Some light scratches and handling marks on the front strap. Fitted with nice period-correct wood grips – tiny chip along the left edge of the left grip panel. Comes with one proper two-tone magazine. The bore has good rifling, but there is very light pin-pricking throughout.
