9/12/23 – This is a Mauser Model 1871 Rifle manufactured in 1874 for the Imperial German military. Chambered in 11mm Mauser and featuring a 32″ barrel, this was the first rifle designed by the Mauser brothers that was used by the German Army. The gun has retained roughly 40% of its finish, with almost no bluing present on the receiver, and areas of patina and signs of oxidation throughout the receiver and barrel. The receiver has the model designation, serial number, and year of manufacture stamped on it. The stock is in good shape, with no major damage. The bore is nearly immaculate. The rifle is missing its rear sight assembly. Antique, so no licensing required.
