9/8/23 – This is a very nice example of a Springfield M1 Garand issued to the US military during WW2. The serial number on the receiver dates it to about April of 1943. Springfield barrel dated December of 1953. The stock is an un-marked replacement. Winchester marked breech bolt. The metal parts have retained nearly all of their finish with some minor wear around the muzzle and a few tiny dings along the barrel. Some spotty oxidation along the gas tube, visible on the underside of the stock. Some spots of discoloration on the receiver and op rod. Very nice wood furniture with some small bruises and light scratches here and there. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is noticeable surface oxidation in the grooves. Muzzle reading: 1.
