9/5/23 – This is an original WW2 production German Red Cross Medical Hewer Dagger. The dagger is in good overall condition with some honest signs of aging and surface wear throughout. The blade has a few dark spots of patina and pin-pricking in the darkest areas, mostly near the tip. The blade is unsharpened and unmarked. There’s light surface scratches on the blade as well. The original leather stopper is fairly worn but still attached and in place. The hand guard and metal portions of the handle have dark patina and flaking of the nickel finish mostly along high edges. The original grip panels are in great overall condition. The original scabbard has no dents but there’s dark patina throughout and rough areas of surface wear and discoloration. The original leather frog is in great condition with a faint maker marking that we can’t read, and a barely visible 1939 date.
