8/21/23 – This is a very nice example of a BYF 44 Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1944. All matching with the proper “Waffen 135” military acceptance proofs throughout. The frame and slide have a phosphate finish and the barrel is blued, giving the gun its iconic dual-tone finish. It has retained about 93% of its original finish with minor thinning on the front strap and very minor wear around the muzzle and on the high edges of the slide. An area of light spotty discoloration around the ejection port. Fitted with excellent reddish bakelite grips. Comes with a period-correct “Waffen 135” marked Mauser magazine. Mint bore. De-cocker is functional.
