8/18/23 – This is an original WW1 era Swiss M1889 knife bayonet for use with the Schmidt-Rubin M1889/96 rifle and M1911 rifle / carbine. The bayonet has an excellent condition blade with some light scabbard rub wear and spotty surface oxidation. Unsharpened blade edge is excellent as well. The base of the blade is maker stamped by Neuhausen. The cross guard is serial numbered with a serial number over stamp (likely was re-issued after WW1), and Swiss proof stamped. The wood grips and pommel have light surface wear but no major issues. Comes with an excellent scabbard that’s very clean overall despite some mild dents near the tip.
