8/16/23 – This is a nice example of a rare Nepalese-issued Enfield SMLE III rifle. The receiver is dated 1917, but it was later reworked in 1929 by Ishapore in India, as evidenced by the “RFI 29” marking on the receiver and mismatched bolt. There are Nepalese markings on the receiver and nose cap. Rack number painted in white on the right side of the butt stock. The metal parts have retained roughly 80% of their finish with wear concentrated around the high edges. Spotty oxidation and discoloration throughout. The wood furniture is covered in dings, dents, and bruises with a few more noticeable gouges on the left side. The bore has good rifling with minor pin-pricking throughout.
