8/4/23 – This is a very nice example of a Springfield M1 Garand. The serial number on the receiver dates to about February of 1945. The barrel is Springfield-marked and dated January of 1945. Springfield-marked small parts. The stock has two “P” proofs on the wrist, but there are no cartouches that we can see. The metal parts have retained about 95% of their finish with minor wear around the muzzle and on the high edges in general. Some light freckling on the breech bolt. Nice wood stock with only minor dings and bruising. The bore has great rifling, but there is pin-pricking in the grooves. Comes with a 1943-dated Boyt leather sling. Muzzle reading: 1.
