7/21/23 – This is an original WW2 production SS Officer’s Dress dagger. The dagger is in good overall condition despite some honest wear and aging throughout. The blade shows some light surface oxidation on both sides, as well as some very light surface scratching from scabbard rub wear and general aging. There’s visible cross graining throughout as well. One side of the blade is RZM stamped with a maker code “1196/38” for Edward Wusthof. The cross guards are non-magnetic nickel with some mild surface scratching and general patina throughout, but no major issues. The wood handle has a few dents and imperfections, but no major flaws or notable issues. The scabbard is black painted with some light surface wear and one small dent, as shown in photos. This doesn’t affect fit or function.
