7/11/23 – This is a very nice example of a Remington Rand Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1944. It is “United States Property” marked, has a cross-canon cartouche, and has the proper “FJA” inspection initials. Correct High Standard barrel. It has retained about 94-95% of its original parkerized finish. There is thinning on the grip straps and a couple of areas of very minor thinning on the right side of the slide. While there isn’t much actual finish loss, there are areas of spotty oxidation here and there, most noticeable on the right side of the gun and on the underside of the frame. Fitted with excellent reddish-brown plastic grips. Comes with one “S” marked magazine. The bore has good rifling, but there is tiny pitting throughout.
