6/23/23 – This is an early Springfield Model 1903 rifle from 1909. Early high polish gun with single bolt, correct hand guard and matching parts. JFC inspection on stock but appears to be stamped over another cartouche. High wood stock. Barrel date of June, 1909 with ‘SA’ maker mark. Bluing is in fairly good shape overall, but there is thinning on the receiver, and also cold blue touch-up on several areas (receiver, front sight, floorplate). Nice bore with minor frost in grooves. Wood shows various dings and handling wear but no cracks. Comes with canvas sling.
