6/20/23 – This is an original 1902 dated Krag M1898 Rifle bayonet. The bayonet comes with an original metal scabbard with attached swivel hanger, as shown. The bayonet blade has dark speckling oxidation wear and there are signs of sharpening along the edge. The ricasso is US stamped as well as 1902 date stamped. The wood handle has “12 H 52” stamped into one side, and a few minor dings and normal signs of aging. The hand guard and pommel have dark patina and surface wear but no rust or pitting. The scabbard has patina throughout as well, and a few small dents but still fits and functions without issue.
