6/15/23 – This is an original Luftwaffe Signal Corps Visor Cap. The blue-grey wool exterior is in great condition with one small hole in the crown and some light areas of surface aging. The brown piping throughout the visor exterior is excellent and clean. The exterior visor band is clean and tight, with an attached aluminum cockade wrapped in an oak leaf wreath with wings. The Luftwaffe eagle is aluminum as well, in excellent condition. The high peak crown is structurally sound and holds shape nicely. The original chinstrap and visor show minimal surface wear and have a shiny black lacquered finish. The interior visor is green with a diamond shaped pattern in excellent condition. The interior leather headband is clean and securely intact. There’s a 1938 date and ink stamp on the interior of this leather headband (shown in photos). The light brown interior is clean, although the celluloid moisture shield is missing. The size, “53” stamp is still visible, as is the maker marking. A very nice example overall.
