6/7/23 – This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1878 Hammer shotgun made in 1878. The gun is all matching and fully functional. Overall, the gun is in nice condition, almost all of the original finish is worn with brown “attic patina” and spotty oxidation throughout. The original damascus pattern on the barrels is barely visible in some places but mostly worn. The case-hardening on the receiver and small parts is almost entirely worn but still partially visible on the inside of the foregrip. No major damage to the original wood furniture, but there is minor scratching throughout. Heavy brown patina on the butt plate. The bores have minor pitting throughout. Everything seems to function as it should.
