5/26/23 – This is a very nice example of a rare Dutch-Contract FN Browning Model 1922 that was captured by the German Army during WW2. The surrender of the Dutch European Army on May 15, 1940 resulted in the capture of a store of arms including the M1922 pistols. These were reissued to the German military. A few bear the “Waffen 613” military acceptance proof on the left side of the trigger guard (as is the case with this one). These likely were captured and German Army acceptance stamped at the FN plant in Belgium. They are without the Dutch Crown/W seal. This one is all matching and has retained about 96% of its finish with minor wear around the muzzle. While there is very little actual finish loss, there is light pin-pricking covering most of the gun. Fitted with nice period-correct grips – some small bore holes on the left side. Comes with a numbered Dutch magazine that does not match the gun. Original lanyard ring is intact. The bore has good rifling, but there are some areas of light freckling.
