5/22/23 – This is an extremely rare, 1st variation FG-42 assault rifle magazine from WW2. This example is often regarded as “experimental” with 10 round capacity and no markings or stamps. These were made before Germany went with the traditional 20 round magazines. The front metal tab and floorplate metal “tension spring” are both indicators of 1st variation / early production. The finish is in great shape with some mild edge wear and a spot of finish loss near the feed lips on one side. The spring is strong and fully functional.
