5/12/23 – This is an original WW2 production Japanese Type 30 Rifle Bayonet. The bayonet is known as a Variation K in Labar’s book, on page 173. This is a fairly uncommon variation with a blued fullered blade, contoured wrap-around wood grips with 2 rivets, straight cross guard, and rectangular pommel. The pommel is serial numbered within the 106th series, and TALW inspector stamped. This is the last variation with a fullered blade, and this example has an excellent blade with most of the original bluing intact. Some light signs of sharpening along the edge, and a TALW arsenal stamp at the base of the blade. No notable flaws throughout the hilt and handle. Comes with a tubular-tipped metal scabbard that’s also in great condition with some mild surface patina throughout.
