4/27/23 – This is a very nice example of a Springfield M1 Garand issued to the US military during WW2. The serial number on the receiver dates it to about April of 1945. The barrel is Springfield marked and also dated April of 1945. The stock has the proper “P” proof, tiny cross-canon military cartouche on the wrist, and the proper Springfield inspection stamp on the left side (double-stamped). The metal parts have retained roughly 80% of their finish. There is some thinning on the receiver and on the floor plate. Some brown patina on the floor plate as well. Minor wear around the muzzle and along the gas tube. The wood furniture is very nice with no major damage, just some small dings and bruises here and there. Near-mint bore. Comes with a canvas sling.
