4/21/23 – This is an original WW2 Luftwaffe Fliegertruppe Enlisted Man’s Officer visor cap. The cap is blue-grey tricot with a twill weave pattern around the cap band, and a Vulkanfiber visor. The twill weave has some mild fraying above the left ear, as shown in photos. The rest of the exterior, including the visor and emblems, are in excellent condition. Features a high peak crown and golden-yellow piping around the crown of the cap and top and bottom of the cap band. The attached leather chinstrap is original with a black lacquered finish on the exterior. The interior visor is minty and the leather interior headband is excellent with ventilation holes throughout. There’s an area that lacks these ventilation holes, where the original maker stamp was once present, but has since faded away with age. The rounded outer edge of the brim area appears to have additional added grey stitching, which is indicative of a repair or reinforcement of the structural integrity. (This is shown in photos). The interior liner shows size “56”, 1937 date, and manufacturer information. Fairly clean throughout except for some natural aging discoloration.
