4/20/23 – This is a very nice example of a Spreewerk P.38 issued to the Nazi military in June of 1943. All matching with the proper “Eagle 88” military acceptance proofs throughout. There is an asterisk marking on the left side of the barrel, indicating it failed initial inspection and was repaired at the factory – a desirable trait for collectors. This one has retained about 92-93% of its original finish with thinning and light spotty oxidation on the front strap and minor wear around the muzzle and front edges of the slide. Visible machining marks on the right side of the slide. Fitted with excellent blackish-brown bakelite grips. Comes with a period-correct jvd magazine. The bore has strong rifling, but there is very light pin-pricking throughout. De-cocker is functional.
