4/19/23 – This is a scarce, early Springfield Armory M1A with desirable ART II scope. The rifle is comprised of mostly original USGI parts, including the scope, mount, bipod and cheek pad. Early serial, one of the first 8,000 produced. The stock is also a GI example with the cutout for the selector switch, and the selector switch/rod is included but the piece that connects the switch to the inside of the stock has broken. The metal finish is excellent throughout with just a little bit of wear around the muzzle/on the barrel. The bore has strong rifling but does have some pitting in the grooves unfortunately. The ART scope is in excellent condition with hardly any wear and very clear optics. The stock has a few minor scrapes but no notable defects. Sling is a reproduction.
