4/14/23 – This is an excellent example of the Chilean Mauser model 1935. These rifles were made specifically for the Carabineros which are a military branch of the government that acted like national police (Gendarmerie). The rifle was made for mounted horseback riding in mind and the sling mounts are modified as such. The bluing is in excellent condition with minor wear here and there like on the front nose cap. The trigger guard is more worn than the rest of the rifle. The wood is in great condition with minor dings here and there. The stock is stamped with the Chilean crest. The receiver is stamped with the emblem of the Carabineros and motto. The rifle is matching on the receiver, bolt, safety flag, bolt release lever, safety body, rear barrel band, nose cap, magazine housing, cleaning rod, and magazine floor plate. The bore is very bright with sharp rifling. The rifle is marked above the bayonet lug. Comes with a Mauser-style bayonet without any markings.
