4/3/23 – This is an original, early transitional variation RZM Hitler Youth Knife from WW2. The knife comes with an original scabbard and leather frog and is in great overall condition. This is a textbook “transitional” example as it has both early and late production features, such as an early inscribed motto on the blade, and a later style large ricasso. The blade is both maker stamped & RZM stamped with a 1937 date. This style of double-maker stamp is characteristic of transitional Youth daggers as well. The blade has some mild surface speckling and light edge wear and surface scratches but no major issues. Clean and crisp markings throughout. The leather stopper is intact and original as well. Excellent black diamond grips with normal patina throughout the metal portions of the handle (hand guard and pommel). The scabbard also has light surface patina throughout the black painted finish but no dents or major issues. The leather frog has surface wrinkling and some honest wear but is completely intact.
