3/31/23 – This is an excellent example of a “Red 9” Mauser C96 issued to the Imperial German military during WW1. It is all matching, Imperial military proofed, and has a Prussian Eagle on the front edge of the frame. It comes as a rig with a matching-numbered wood stock, an LZA maker marked leather harness, a spare magazine spring, and an original cleaning rod. The wood stock has no markings. The gun itself has retained about 94-95% of its original finish. There is minor wear around the muzzle, on the underside of the barrel, and on the side rails. Some light wear on the back strap from the stock lug. Fitted with excellent matching-numbered “Red 9” wood grips. Shiny bore with strong rifling and some very light freckling throughout.
