3/31/23 – This is an excellent example of a Colt 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1943. It is “United States Property” marked, has the correct “GHD” inspector initials, and has the proper cross-canon military cartouche on the right side of the tang. It also has a correct Colt barrel with a small “F” under the lug. The gun has retained about 96% of its original finish. There is not much actual finish loss, but there are areas of splotchy discoloration around the front edge of the frame, on the trigger guard, on the front strap, and a few small dots along the slide. Excellent period-correct reddish bakelite grips. Comes with an earlier two-tone magazine with a lanyard loop on the bottom. Mint bore.
