3/30/23 – 12/7/22 – This is an excellent No.4 Mk I (T) sniper rifle. These rifles were the standard British sniper rifles developed in the late 1930s and used until the early 1960s. The receiver side wall is marked “T”, and the butt socket is marked “M47C/1944/36157/TR”. The rifle is matching numbers throughout, and was originally telescope ready as it has the serial of the original scope on the wrist. The scope and scope mount are mismatched to the wrist though, as well as mismatched to each other. This original No. 32 MK3 scope is marked “TEL.STG.No 32 MKIII/O.S. 2039 A/No 19413/broad arrow proof”. Clear optics. The rifle is fitted with its original, correct wartime smooth semi-pistol grip stock with the standard proof marks, matching serial number on the forestock and correctly stamped “S51” on behind the pistol grip area. The buttstock is fitted with a wartime metal buttplate with butt trap compartment and the correct screw-on cheekpiece.
