3/27/23 – This is an original Swiss M1914 Pioneer Sawback Bayonet. The bayonet is in excellent overall condition with an original scabbard and leather frog. The bayonet blade is maker stamped, “H. St.” with a Swiss cross proof stamp underneath. The blade has some mild edge wear and light surface patina near the tip. The hand guard is serial numbered and the handle is in excellent overall condition. There’s some very light micro-scratching on the pommel. The scabbard has a swiss cross proof stamp on the ballpoint tip, and there’s a small proof stamp at the top of the scabbard as well as on the mouth that looks like a long lowercase “f”. The leather frog is in great shape with a 1940 dated maker stamp on the back as shown.
