2/28/23 – This is a WW2 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger with an original scabbard and hanger. The dagger blade is maker stamped by SMF with a small Luftwaffe eagle/5 proof stamp above the maker logo. The blade is shiny with light scabbard rub wear and surface scratches on each side. Minimal discoloration and no rust or pitting. The hand guard and pommel have high edge wear and surface patina as well as typical finish loss throughout, but no discoloration, rust, or pitting. The bakelite handle has a tightly wrapped silver chord and is in great condition despite some small hairline cracks near the pommel. The scabbard has some dark surface patina but no dents or major issues. The hanger is excellent and DRGM marked on the clips. The belt hook is RZM stamped and DRGM stamped, as shown.
