2/21/23 – This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1903 revolver issued to the US military in 1903. It is all matching and has the proper “RAC” military proofs throughout. The left side of the frame is dated 1903. The gun comes as a rig with a period-correct “US” marked Rock Island Arsenal holster and a 1904-dated “US” marked Rock Island Arsenal Ammo pouch. The gun itself has retained roughly 60% of its original high polish finish. There is spotty wear and light spotty oxidation throughout. The majority of the finish loss is concentrated along the barrel, on the cylinder, and on both grip straps. Some light scratchy wear on both sides of the frame. The original wood grips are hand-numbered on the inside to match the gun. There is a tiny repaired chip in the bottom corner of the right panel. Minty bore. The cylinder is tight, and the action is smooth.
