2/6/23 – This is an original Kriegsmarine Officer’s Dagger from WW2. The dagger has an etched blade, and comes with an original portepee and Certificate of Guarantee from Thomas T. Wittmann. The blade is etched on each side, showing an anchor and boat scene. The base / ricasso of the blade is maker stamped by ALCOSO on one side as shown. There is some mild surface wear on the blade, but this is minimal and overall the blade is excellent. No signs of sharpening and minimal scabbard rub wear. The red leather stopper is original and intact. The handle is slightly yellowed from age, but has no cracks or chips and a nice wire chord wrapping the grip. The silver portepee has fraying along the rope, and some scuffing / surface wear on the knot but is in good overall condition and still complete. The scabbard has some surface patina and natural aging wear but no dents. The certificate is signed by Thomas Wittmann, a known dagger expert.
