1/26/23 – This is a nice example of a 42 Code Mauser Luger issued to the Nazi military in 1940. It is all matching and has the proper “Eagle 655” military acceptance proofs. It has retained about 90-92% of its original finish. There is thinning on the front strap and spotty oxidation on both grip straps. Areas of wear around the muzzle, on the left side of the barrel, on the side plate, and on the side rails. Very minor thinning on the chamber. Fitted with nice period-correct grips that are not numbered but are “Eagle 655” proofed – light bruising on the left side. Comes with a mismatched “Eagle 83” proofed magazine. The bore has seen better days – decent rifling, but there is spotty oxidation and pin-pricking throughout.
