1/19/23 – This is an original pair of WW1 production Imperial Navy Marineglas Binoculars by Carl Zeiss. The binoculars come with an original leather carry strap and leather case. The binoculars are in great overall condition with some light surface wear and finish loss, mostly around the edges and on the surface of the metal frame. The handles / grip area is excellent. The optics are clear and clean, and the adjustment knobs are fully functional. The brown eye-cups are in great shape, but there is one small hairline crack in the right eye cup, as shown. The leather strap shows mild surface wear. The leather case is serial number stamped on the back “185512”. The exterior of the lid is stamped with what looks like a unit stamp and a sunkist star proof stamp of some kind, but these markings are faint and hard to read. All original leather and stitching intact with mild surface wear.
