8/15/23 – This is a rare Zero Series Walther P.38 – third variation. Manufactured in early 1940, this pistol is all original and matching. There were only ~9,550 of this variation produced, making up less than 1% of WWII P.38 production. The original bluing rates at roughly 80%. There is muzzle wear and obvious spotty wear on the front strap and along both sides of the slide, concentrated mostly around the high edges. Some pin-pricking on the front strap and left side of the slide. All small parts are properly waffen marked. Both grips are numbered and matching. Comes with a numbered but mismatched zero series magazine. The bore has strong rifling with minor freckling in the grooves. De-cocker is functional.
