1/17/23 – This is a nice example of a scarce Colt Model 1903 revolver issued to the US military in 1903. The gun is all matching, dated “1903” on the left side of the frame, has “R.A.C.” military inspection initials on the left side of the frame, on the barrel, on the cylinder, and on each of the bottom edges of the grip panels. It also comes with six .38 caliber cartridges and an original copy of the Customs Declaration paperwork – we’re not sure if the serial number on this paperwork was reapplied. The gun itself has retained roughly 75% of its original bluing. The majority of the finish loss is on the grip straps, but there are areas of splotchy discoloration and spotty oxidation throughout. The grips are hand-numbered to match the gun. There are notches along both bottom edges, and the right side has a small chip. Original lanyard loop intact. The cylinder is tight and the action is smooth. Mint bore.
