1/13/23 – This is a mint example of a scarce AC 45 Walther P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1945. What makes this one scarce is the capital “A” suffix on the frame and locking block. Only about 5,000 guns feature this oddity. It is believed that, for a short period of time in 1945, the lower case “a” die was broken or unavailable, so the Walther factory was forced to use the capital “A”. This one is all matching and has the proper “Eagle 359” military acceptance proofs throughout. It is in mint condition, retaining virtually all of its finish with hints of wear around the muzzle and on the very front edges of the slide. Comes with very reddish bakelite grips and a rare late-war “U” marked magazine. The bore has strong rifling with very minor pin-pricking throughout. De-cocker is functional.
