12/16/22 – This is an original 1939 dated K98 bayonet with an original matching numbered scabbard and leather frog. The bayonet blade is excellent with strong original bluing throughout and only some mild edge wear and finish loss near the tip. The spine of the blade is ’39 dated, and the ricasso is maker stamped on one side and serial numbered on the other. The hilt of the bayonet has mild surface patina and dark discoloration mixed within the blued finish. The scabbard shows similar surface wear throughout, giving an overall aged look without any excessive wear, rust, or pitting. The leather frog is RBN numbered on the back as shown. All original leather and stitching.
