12/12/22 – This is a very rare British BSA L1A1 rifle from 1964 with bayonet, sling, three total magazines, manual and S.U.I.T. scope. Fewer than 300 of these were imported before the ATF stopped the import, and Century Arms sold them to police officers to use on duty (this example comes to us from the retired police officer who purchased it while a deputy sheriff). The L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle, officially “Rifle, 7.62mm, L1A1”, is a British version of the FN FAL battle rifle. The L1A1 was produced under license and has seen use in the Australian Army, Canadian Army, Indian Army, Jamaica Defense Force, Malaysian Army, New Zealand Army, Rhodesian Army, Singapore Army and the British Armed Forces. While the numbered parts are mismatched, this rifle is an original example with original parts, rather than a kit build. This is further confirmed by the import mark on the barrel which references BSA. The finish is original and in very good condition with most of the wear along the rounded areas of the receiver. Strong, shiny bore. Also included with the listing is a bayonet with scabbard, a canvas sling, two spare steel mags, and the Sightunit Infantry Trilux L2 A2 scope (SUIT). It has crystal clear optics and comes with a camo case.
