12/8/22 – This is a very nice excellent example of a “last-ditch” Arisaka Type 99 rifle issued to the Japanese military at the very end of WW2. It is mismatched but has the proper late war features such as crude bolt handle, peep rear sight, wood butt plate, and rough machining throughout. The imperial mum stamp on the receiver is fully intact. There is very little actual finish loss, but there are tiny dots of oxidation and light brown patina throughout. Some minor pitting along the barrel. Very nice wood stock in above-average condition for these late-war guns. There are, however, some tiny dots of white paint here and there and a small filled-in hole near the floor plate. Comes with a very nice reproduction dust cover. Very nice bore with good rifling.
