12/7/22 – This is a very nice example of a rare “S/147 Code” JP Sauer K98 issued to the Nazi military in 1936. It is completely matching and has the proper Waffen military acceptance proofs throughout. It is missing one small set screw at the front of the trigger assembly. Comes with a cleaning rod and a nice reproduction leather sling. The gun itself has retained roughly 85% of its original finish. There is minor high edge in general, wear around the muzzle, noticeable finish loss on the barrel bands, and some light scratchy wear on the trigger guard. Some areas of light brown patina here and there, most noticeable on the receiver, on the barrel bands, and on the floor plate / trigger group. Light spotty oxidation on the butt plate. There is no major damage to the wood stock, but there is noticeable bruising throughout and some scratches here and there. Excellent bore with strong rifling.
