12/7/22 – This is an original late WW2 variation Type 30 Japanese rifle bayonet. The bayonet has late war features such as a bamboo wood scabbard, straight cross guard, flat pommel, and a slab-side blued blade. The blade has excellent bluing throughout and is sharpened from the tip down about halfway along the edge. There’s some mild scabbard wear and a few imperfections along the edge but no major issues. Maker stamped by Toyoda Automatic Loom works under Nagoya supervision. Mild patina on the pommel and hand guard. Nice wood grips. The scabbard has two cracks stemming down from the mouth, but this is typical and not excessive wear. A very nice example overall.
