7/8/24 – This is an excellent example of an AC 42 Walther P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1942. It is all matching and has the proper “Eagle 359” military acceptance proofs throughout. This one comes as a rig with one period-correct “Eagle 359” proofed Walther magazine and a 1939-dated Luger holster. The reason why we kept the gun and holster together is because they apparently came back from the war that way. The matching serial number to the gun is written on the holster in two places: on the back and on the inside of the top flap. The name “Klein” is also written twice on the back. The gun actually fits very well, and the magazine pouch has been stretched to the point where it fits a P.38 magazine very easily. So we believe they have at least been together for a very long time. The gun itself has retained about 96-97% of its original finish. The frame has a nice plum color to it. There is very minor thinning on the front strap and minor wear around the muzzle and front edges of the slide. One tiny spot of minor wear on the right side of the slide. Comes with excellent blackish-brown bakelite Walther grips. The bore is shiny with strong rifling and some areas of light freckling. De-cocker is functional.
