11/29/22 – This is a nice example of a rare Sauer Behorden, manufactured in the 1930’s and chambered in 7.65mm. It is all matching and has the proper “Crown N” proofs throughout. Most of these went to the police, but this one may have been sold in the commercial market – it lacks police proofs of any kind. It does, however, come with a nice 1939-dated tan Nazi police-proofed holster. So it’s possible it went to the police. The inside of the holster has the name of what we assume to be the original owner of this rig. It also comes with two period-correct magazines. The gun itself has retained somewhere between 85 and 90% of its original high polish finish. There is wear around the muzzle and along both sides of the slide, concentrated mostly around the high edges. Very minor thinning, light brown patina, and light freckling on the grip straps. Comes with excellent period-correct black bakelite grips. Minty bore.
