11/23/22 – This is a scarce “243” Code Mauser K98 rifle issued to the Nazi military in 1940. The gun is entirely matching except for the bolt. It has the proper Nazi military acceptance proofs throughout. Both the stock and handguard are numbered on the inside and matching. Very faint waffen proofs on the wrist and right side of the butt stock. Overall, the gun is in fair condition, retaining roughly 75% of its bluing. The finish has see better days with areas of obvious scratchy wear throughout. Spotty oxidation on the butt plate. The stock has no major damage, but there are dings and scratches throughout – a few more noticeable gouges along the underside of the stock. Hairline crack around the wrist. The bore has good rifling, but there is some very light pin-pricking throughout.
